Over the past decade, window cleaning by water fed pole – or ladderless window cleaning – has made its way from being a new and unknown technology, to being the preferred method of cleaning for many window cleaners in the UK. So, what are the benefits of water fed pole window cleaning? Here are just 5 of the potential benefits.

Safety

One of the obvious benefits of water fed pole window cleaning is increased safety. Not having to climb ladders day after day is a huge plus of cleaning windows via a water fed pole and no doubt many accidents – and possibly lives – have been saved from the reduced risk involved with cleaning windows this way.

Privacy

Another benefit of ladderless window cleaning is the increased privacy for the homeowner. We’ve all heard the jokes about what window cleaners ‘must have seen’ in their day to day routines! Well, no more. Nowadays, the water fed pole means that the homeowner no longer has to worry about their privacy being disturbed by the window cleaner.

This benefit has relevance for both the window cleaner as well as the homeowner. Working around the weather has always been an issue for window cleaners. The water fed pole has reduced the problems the weather can cause, however, as I personally have found that it has enabled me to work at times when I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. I feel that this provides benefits to both myself and my customer, as I can provide a more regular service to my client and at the same time earn a more regular income.

Another benefit of the water fed pole for window cleaners specifically is that it has allowed many of them to extend their window cleaning career. In the past, many window cleaners hit an age where they simply couldn’t endure the physical side of the job any longer. These days, the age at which this point arrives has been extended, all because of the water fed pole. Modern water fed poles are lightweight and this has allowed many window cleaners to keep on working into their later years.

Cleaner for Longer

Another benefit that I feel exists when window cleaning by water fed pole is that the windows seem to stay cleaner for longer. I have to admit that I need to research this a little more to find out whether this is truly the case, but it is certainly something that I have noticed from cleaning my own house with the water fed pole. If I was to hazard a guess, I would say that it is because there is no residue or ‘film’ of soap being left on the window when you clean it with pure water, and I feel that this will mean that less dirt then ‘sticks’ to the glass. As I say though, this is more a hunch than a scientific fact.
